B’Tselem
http://www.BTselem.org
*****
"B'TSELEM - The Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories was established in February 1989 by a group of prominent academics, attorneys, journalists, and Knesset members. It endeavors to document and educate the Israeli public and policymakers about human rights violations in the Occupied Territories, combat the phenomenon of denial prevalent among the Israeli public, and help create a human rights culture in Israel.
"B'Tselem in Hebrew literally means "in the image of," and is also used as a synonym for human dignity. The word is taken from Genesis 1:27 "And God created humans in his image. In the image of God did He create him." It is in this spirit that the first article of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that "All human beings are born equal in dignity and rights."
"As an Israeli human rights organization, B'Tselem acts primarily to change Israeli policy in the Occupied Territories and ensure that its government, which rules the Occupied Territories, protects the human rights of residents there and complies with its obligations under international law.
"B'Tselem is independent and is funded by contributions from foundations in Europe and North America that support human rights activity worldwide, and by private individuals in Israel and abroad.
"B'Tselem has attained a prominent place among human rights organizations. In December, 1989 it received the Carter-Menil Award for Human Rights. Its reports have gained B'Tselem a reputation for accuracy, and the Israeli authorities relate to them seriously. B'Tselem ensures the reliability of information it publishes by conducting its own fieldwork and research, the results of which are thoroughly cross-checked with relevant documents, official government sources, and information from other sources, among them Israeli, Palestinian, and other human rights organizations."

WHAT WE DO
- We mobilize rabbis and their communities to protect human rights in the United States, Canada, Israel, and the occupied territories. This work includes engaging rabbis and Jewish communities in advocating to their elected officials; helping rabbis to testify in state legislatures about bills that affect human rights; and advocating for policies in the U.S., Canada, and Israel that protect the human rights of all residents.
- We train rabbis and rabbinical students to be strong human rights leaders. Through our summer fellowship, a select cohort of rabbinical/cantorial students gain the experience and skills to be human rights leaders. Through our year-in-Israel program, more than 60 students studying in Jerusalem participate in monthly human rights experiences and reflection sessions. We run webinars and in-person seminars for rabbis to learn to write and place op-eds, and to bring human rights issues to their communities.
- We promote rabbis and cantors as moral voices on the most crucial issues of the day. We place op-eds and media stories that feature rabbis bringing Jewish values to current human rights concerns. We have testified to the Senate and to federal agencies about issues ranging from solitary confinement to human trafficking to discrimination against American Muslims.
Rabbis For Human Rights
*****
http://www.RHR.org.il/eng
"Rabbis for Human Rights is the only rabbinic voice of conscience in Israel, defending human rights of marginalized communities within Israel and the Palestinian Territories. The organization was founded in 1988, and today has over 100 members-all Israelis and all ordained Orthodox, Reform, Conservative, Reconstructionist, and Renewal rabbis as well as some rabbinical students. We are also supported by Conservative, Reform and Reconstructionist Rabbinical organizations in North America and the UK.
"Our work expresses the view that as Jews, we are obligated to protest against every injustice enacted against any other person, a view based on the belief that man and women was created in God’s image. We believe that it is our obligation to inform the Israeli public about human rights violations, and that it is our role to pressure state institutions to fix these injustices.
"We derive our authority from two main sources- from the humanistic Jewish tradition and from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In parallel to our efforts to prevent violations of human rights, Rabbis for Human Rights brings a humanistic understanding of Jewish sources to the Israeli public discourse. In a time in which a nationalist and isolationist understanding of Jewish tradition is heard frequently and loudly, Rabbis for Human Rights give expression to the traditional Jewish responsibility for the safety and welfare of the stranger, the different and the weak, the convert, the widow and the orphan.
"Rabbis for Human Rights serves as a shofar for the distribution of information about human rights in Israel and in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. We work in partnership with local Israeli organizations, and with international human rights organizations. We are not aligned with any specific political party."

Ta'ayush
http://www.Taayush.org
"Ta’ayush is a grassroots movement working to break down the walls of racism, segregation, and apartheid by constructing a true Arab-Jewish partnership. For more then a decade, Ta’ayush has been working in area C of the occupied Palestinian territories, especially in the South Hebron Hills, to support Palestinian residents in their struggle to retain their homes and agricultural lands. Palestinians in these areas face constant harassment and violence by Israeli settlers and the army, which aims to cleanse area C of its Palestinian population by compelling them to leave to areas B and A, and to seize its land for Israeli settlements. Preventing access to agricultural lands and water cisterns, house demolitions, setting fire to tents, and physical attacks are all common methods in the authorities’ and settlers’ attempts to push the Palestinian residents from their homes and towards the area’s urban centers, such as Yatta, Samua, Dura, and Dahariyya. A life of dire poverty, unemployment and distress awaits those Palestinian who are forced move to these cities.
In the past few months, In the past few months, we have witnessed an increase in the severity of official state policy as well as an escalation in the violence of individual soldiers, police, and Israeli settlers on the ground against Palestinians in the South Hebron Hills. Among other alarming measures:
[...]
Harrasment and assaults against Palestinians and solidarity activists by soldiers and settlers have been taking place on an almost daily basis. These include damage to property and infrastructure, uprooting olive trees, preventing accsess to agricultural lands, arbitrary arrests, and physical assaults. A very partial list of recent attacks may be found here.
Taayush continues to stand in solidarity with the residents of South Hebron Hills. In the past few months we have accompanied farmers and shepherds to lands that they are unable access alone, including in some cases lands that have been avoided for years. our activists prevented the arrest of several Palestinian residents, among them children as young as nine; documented numerous assaults on Palestinians; and launched, along with other organizations, a public campaign against the demolition of Susya and the villages located inside the designated fire zone. As part of this campaign, hundreds of Israelis and Palestinians protested in the village against the demolitions, and thousands of Israelis appealed to the authorities to rescind the demolition orders.

"Defence for Children International-Palestine Section (DCI-Palestine) is a national section of the international non-governmental child rights organisation and movement, Defence for Children International (DCI), established in 1979. As such, it is a member of the International General Assembly of DCI, which convenes every three years. Currently, DCI has 45 national sections and associated members throughout the world, an international secretariat in Geneva and consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, UNICEF, UNESCO, and the Council of Europe. Each national section and associated member is an autonomous entity affiliated to the movement by pledging to follow the broad mandate of promoting and protecting the rights of children according to international standards. Thus each national section adapts its vision, mission and strategies to the particular context in which it is operating. Consequently, DCI-Palestine develops its own programmes according to Palestinian children’s needs and priorities.
"The General Director of DCI-Palestine, Rifat Kassis, was also a co-founding member of the organisation in 1991. He served as President of the international governing body of DCI (International Executive Council) for six years, until March 2012."
